President Petr Pavel visited the construction site of a church and community centre in Neratovice

Neratovice, 31 May 2026 – The President of the Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, visited the construction of the new Church of the Holy Trinity and the Cardinal Josef Beran Community Centre in Neratovice. As the first sacral building in the Czech Republic, it will be partially constructed using 3D concrete printing. The revolutionary 3DCP technology is being used for the church tower and the rectory. The general contractor is the international construction group HSF System from the investment holding PURPOSIA Group. The design was created by architect Zdeněk Fránek. The investor is the Neratovice Community Centre Foundation. The total cost of the structural shell is approximately CZK 204 million.

During his visit, President Petr Pavel inspected the construction site of the church and community centre and was briefed on the current progress as well as the planned use of 3D concrete printing for the construction of the church tower and rectory. “We greatly appreciate the visit of the President of the Republic. It confirms that the project is significant not only for Neratovice but also for the wider public. This is a project that combines architecture, faith, community life, and innovative construction methods. We are very honoured to be part of it,” said Jan Hasík, CEO of the investment holding PURPOSIA Group.

At present, the foundations of the rectory and the perimeter walls of the community hall, as well as retaining walls, have been completed. A key feature of the entire project will be the church tower. It is being built using 3D concrete printing technology. Testing of individual printed components is currently underway. The aim is to verify the shape, the continuity of elements, surface quality, and assembly process. “3D concrete printing technology opens up new possibilities for architectural expression by enabling organic and curved forms without compromising the strength or stability of structures. The use of concrete as a proven building material ensures that the resulting structures are strong, durable, and safe,” explains Tomáš Kosa, CEO of the construction group HSF System.

The revolutionary Czech 3D concrete printing technology used for the church construction is being developed in cooperation with HSF System and its subsidiary Coral Construction Technologies, which has long focused on developing its own 3D concrete printing solutions. “The beauty of our technology lies in the fact that we take standard ready-mix concrete and, using a blend of additives, give it shape freedom through 3D printing. For the construction of the church tower, this is ideal. We do not need complex formwork to precisely capture the fine lines and elegance of the design,” says Tomáš Vránek, CEO of Coral Construction Technologies.

The mass of the building symbolises the Ark as the presence and mystery of God in the world, while the tower represents humanity, which as individuals and as a community touches this mystery. The church will be dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The centre will bear the name of Cardinal Josef Beran. The project in Neratovice will create a new space for worship, meetings, education, and community activities. The complex will also include a community hall and facilities for the parish and the public. The church tower will even include, for example, a climbing wall. “Every week we can see progress on the construction site. For us, it is powerful to watch a long-prepared vision turn into a real place for people. The church and community centre will not serve only the parish. An open space is being created here for meetings, culture, education, and helping others. The added value of the entire project lies in its great versatility and accessibility for the wider public and community events,” adds Marek Matocha, board member of the Neratovice Community Centre Foundation.

The construction of the new church and community centre responds to the long-term needs of the local community. The Neratovice parish covers 13 municipalities, and the current facilities are, according to the foundation, no longer sufficient in capacity. The project thus brings new facilities to a town that was deliberately built without a church in 1957. The Church of the Holy Trinity and the Cardinal Josef Beran Community Centre are scheduled for completion in autumn 2028. “The project is growing naturally from the needs of the local community and is funded by donations. The fundraising campaign is still ongoing at kostelneratovice.cz,”concludes Marek Matocha.
